Redmond Entryway & Main LeveL

Mission: Bring a bright, cheery, cohesive vibe to open concept living

Beachy blues and Cape Cod style

The clients love spending time by the water and vacationing in Hawaii; they also love beachy blues and Cape Cod style so we decided to go with a coastal feel to coordinate with the already painted light blue walls in their home. Because we have so many gray days here in the Pacific Northwest, we wanted to keep the spaces light, airy and bright… and bring warmth and welcoming vibes into the spaces at the same time.

Bubbly and cheery personalities

For the entryway, we added board and batten to add character to an otherwise plain space. For the open-concept main level, the challenge was to give individual personality to the living and dining room but still make them cohesive and provide a nice flow between the two spaces. We had fun bringing in colors into these spaces to reflect the clients’ bubbly and cheery personalities. We designed and styled the spaces, keeping in mind that everything had to be kid friendly.

Lelia’s favorite bits

“My favorite part of about the project has to be the fireplace and painted built-ins. The moment you walk up the stairs to the main level, you immediately notice the beautiful 3-D ocean blue geometric tiles on the fireplace surround. The newly tiled fireplace gives a nice pop against the built-ins which we painted white to brighten up the space and add to the coastal vibes.”
