Condo Dining Room

Mission: Say goodbye to the 70s & bring the space into modern times

A FIRST HOME

Our client bought her first home a couple years ago and loves it. But she has been slowly gradually trying to bring it out of the 70s while still keeping some of the vintage charm. She and her boyfriend love having friends over for dinners and get-togethers but their hand-me-down dining set was too small to host more than 2-3 people. And their lackluster space did not scream inviting. So that’s where we came in and brought life into the room with new furnishings, greenery and a creative wall feature.

Eclectic and bohemian style

Our client’s eclectic and bohemian style and love for nature were our inspirations for designing her space. Even though this was a small project with a small budget, we packed a punch in this room!

As you walk into the condo …

…and turn the corner down the hallway, the first thing you see is the big wall in the dining space. So we built a slat wall and displayed a geometric wood artwork planked between two unique sconces on top of the slat wall to make it an eye-catching focal point. We weren’t able to get rid of the pony wall that divides the dining area from the living room so we created a plant wall to bring greenery into the space and camouflage the back of the giant TV screen from the living room. We also put in a floating cabinet to serve as a bar but also provide ample storage.

Playing favorite

Our favorite part of the room is the slat wall with the artwork and sconces. It’s different, unique and adds so much character into an otherwise plain room.
